About

I’m Stuart Patterson — writer, pastor, community worker, and someone who has spent much of life learning how faith meets real life.

This site brings together a range of that journey.

Some of it is memoir, especially through Window Seat (Life Story), where I reflect on addiction, recovery, grace, and the God who lifts people when they can no longer lift themselves.

Some of it is theology and Bible reflection, written in the belief that Scripture still speaks clearly into ordinary life when handled with honesty, patience, and hope.

Some of it is creative writing — poems, stories, and pieces shaped by Glasgow, memory, faith, and the long work of becoming.

Some of it is public reflection on recovery, community, and the wider questions facing church and society.

If there’s a thread running through it all, it is probably this:
that people are never only the worst thing that has happened to them, nor the worst thing they have done, and that grace still has the power to tell a truer story.
