What a day, in every way
The marvellous madness of Maths
With formulae sounding like the liturgy of Mass
Its models and manners
and shapes throwing spanners.
til the college buds spring
into steps helping me
these problems’ solutions see
Onto break now laughter comes
literary devices multiplying fun.
library quiet -not a chance, not a hope
the units combine, it helps us to cope
Comms now, our tutor clearly on fire,
no water here though, he’s taking us higher
Through Tom’s view of Glasgow
The Good Thief on high
To Moira’s lonely old lady
alone now to die.
The rhyme in this season
Alex teaches the reason
completing the sum
Jim and Andy in the car chatting away
class, college, they’re clever, all from clay
Then young Jonny we grab and run him around
local lad, his real root well crowned
Food fast and feeling free
nearly time for Bible Study
But first Edna and Henry looking well
the formula works, he’s feeling swell
Expanding the Book it’s a study on Acts
expanding the meaning, formulating the facts
Transforming community, one soul at a time
from misery to marvellous – maths of a different kind
One into Three into One we now see
giving His life just for you and for me
Bridge of Weir now calling, Naomi’s all done
what a day, marvellous madness
The equation of life, X equals One
